Arahan
- 1
Prepare the filling by crumbling tauhu, then mixing it with grated carrot, shredded cabbage, chives, minced garlic, and ginger in a large bowl. Add soy sauce and sesame oil, stir well.
5 minutes
Squeeze out excess moisture from the tofu for a firmer filling.
- 2
Lay a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a heaping teaspoon of filling in the centre. Wet edges with water, fold, and seal into half-moon shapes.
5 minutes
Ensure the edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling from escaping during steaming.
- 3
Arrange dumplings on a lined steaming tray, ensuring they do not touch. Steam on medium heat for 8-10 minutes until wrappers turn translucent.
10 minutes
Use banana leaf to line the steamer for extra aroma and prevent sticking.
- 4
While dumplings steam, heat sesame oil in a small pan. Add finely chopped lemongrass and cili padi, sauté until fragrant. Pour over chilli flakes, allow to infuse and let cool.
5 minutes
Control spice level by adjusting amount of cili padi.
